Regular maintenance of the elliptical is necessary to ensure long life and proper operation. Keep the unit clean by vacuuming around moving parts and wiping with a clean cotton cloth. Regularly check for loose connections and retighten them. Regular lubrication of the moving parts of the elliptical will help prevent squeaking.
Step 1.
Ensure that the floor on which the elliptical is standing is level. Any unevenness in the floor can put unnecessary pressure on the moving parts of the elliptical and cause it to squeak.

Step two.
Spray the bolts connecting the handle to the lower arm with a multi-purpose spray lubricant. The lower arm supports the foot or pedal of the elliptical.

Step three.
Spray lubricant on the bolts connecting the roller arms to the mainframe crank. The roller arm slides over the roller ramp and the crank provides resistance to the roller arm.

Step four.
Apply marine grease around the roller arm under the pedals. Run an ellipse around the roller ramp to distribute the grease. Wipe off any excess grease from the rollers and ramps. Marine grease is designed to lubricate open gears and lasts longer, allowing more frequent lubrication.
